Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass
On Sunday, September 9, 2012 Bishop Douglas Crosby will celebrate a Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Hamilton at 2:00 p.m. for couples married 25, 40, 50, 60 or more years in the year 2012. (Space allows room for Anniversary couples only - those married 60 years or more may bring 1 guest). To participate in the celebration, please refer to the poster in the Narthex of the church.

Persons Separated and Divorced
Learning to Cope ( Level 1) is a ten week support program starting Tuesday, February 28th (7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) For persons experiencing the trauma of a separation or divorce. For more information, please contact the Family Ministry Office at (905) 528-7988 ext. 2249. Cost: $35.00 Past participants are welcome to inquire about other Levels programs available.

Vatican Council II 50th Anniversary Presentations:
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Vatican Council II we will be offering four presentations. This Ecumenical Council was the most authoritative Church teaching in the past 100 years and has provided us with direction for our future. We will be reflecting on what happened at this Council, what changes it has brought to the Church and what it means for our future. Registration will take place February 11/12 or any time at the parish office. Cost is $10.00

Catholicism Series: Monday evenings, 7 p.m. Thursday afternoons, 1 p.m.
(We will be watching 5 episodes of this documentary series created by Fr. Robert Barron. Each episode is approximately 50 minutes and will be followed by an opportunity for discussion and questions. For more information about the series see, www.catholicismseries.com or www.wordonfire.org ) You are not required to attend each session, come out to as many or as few as you choose. A registration will take place the weekend of February 18/19 or email Fr. Mark directly at mgatto@saintmatthew.ca

Sunday Offering Envelopes
If you would like to use weekly envelopes, as a means of supporting the church and obtaining a tax receipt, please contact the parish office at (905) 825-0219.

Please keep in mind the alternative to weekly envelopes is the ‘pre-authorized’ giving method. Forms for this are also available through the office. You determine the amount and frequency of giving, and do not require a box of envelopes.

Seminary Collection
The annual Diocesan collection in support of the seminarians of the Diocese of Hamilton takes place this weekend. A seminarian is someone who is studying and preparing to be a priest. Please remember in your prayers the 16 seminarians who are preparing for priestly service in the Diocese of Hamilton. A diocesan priest commits himself to serve the people of God in loving imitation of Christ who came not to be served, but to serve.
