CWL Events
St. Matthew’s Catholic Women’s League would like to invite you to join us for two events on October. A Retreat for ladies is planned at Queen of Apostles Renewal Centre in Mississauga on Saturday, October 4th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm and includes morning coffee/tea and muffins, as well as lunch (cost: $35.00 for members and $40 for non-members). Also planned is a fun trip to Kitchener Market on the Tim Horton bus open to all members, non-members, family and friends, including lunch at Concordia Restaurant and a guided tour of the Schneider Haus and Museum on Saturday, October 25th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (cost: $45.00 for CWL members and $50.00 for non-members). Tickets will be on sale after all the masses in the narthex for the next 2 weekends and    for both trips and October 11/12, 18/19 for the fun trip. If you are planning to attend the retreat, carpools can be arranged when you purchase your ticket.
Parish Choir
Weekly rehearsal for the parish choir have resumed and are held Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the church.  New members are always welcome.  For more information, or to join the choir, please contact Dwayne Cahill at dcahill@saintmatthew.ca

Our Young Adult Catholic Group for those aged 18-35 meets every two weeks for faith discussion and fellowship.  If you are interested, contact Fr. Dave at dwalter@saintmatthew.ca or call him at the office.

Come Away and Pray for Awhile... Praying with the Sisters of St. Joseph:  All interested women are invited to join the Sisters of St. Joseph at the Motherhouse, 574 Northcliffe Ave, Hamilton on Saturday, September 27th from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm.  The day will include Mass, a short talk, time for prayer and reflection. Seniors’ Forum
Our community has the responsibility to ensure that the fundamental rights our seniors’ population under any and all health-care challenges are being met with compassion, dignity and respect.  However are you  aware that some services to seniors have been cut or are inadequate- they and their families are suffering as a result! Do you or a senior family member receive personal care or support through CCAC?  Do you have feedback or ideas for improving the delivery of these services? 13th Annual Diocesan Vocations Mass Sunday, Sept 21st at 1:00 p.m., St. Anthony Daniel Parish, Kitchener.  Please join Bishop Crosby and Bishop Miehm, at the Mass of prayer and thanksgiving for the gift of vocations to the priesthood and religious life in our diocese.  Light refreshments & vocation materials will be available following the celebration of the Eucharist.
The Serra Club of Halton welcomes new members  We come together monthly at Saint Dominic Parish in Oakville to promote and support  vocations to religious life.  We share Mass, a meal, have interesting speakers, and plan ways, as a group, to encourage young men and women to listen to God’s call.  While this helps others, it is also a wonderful opportunity to deepen our own walk with the Lord and strengthen our faith community.  SERRAN’s find ways to do this work in our everyday world of office, home, factory and family.
